Dzhuliya Bishop interviewThe Russian Federation which sent “humanitarian convoy” to Ukraine for improving the situation in Donbas, first of all should stop to put militants and weapons to pro-Russians separatists.

About it the Minister of Foreign Affairs Julia Bishop stated after meeting with the Heads of Foreign Policy and Defense Agencies of the United States in Sydney.

“If Russia is worried about the humanitarian situation in Ukraine, the first thing it should do is to stop the supply of militants and weapons in Eastern Ukraine“, she said.

Bishop stressed that any attempt of Russia under the guise of a humanitarian mission to bring troops into the Donbas will meet with strong condemnation of the Australian government.

“It is obviously that such assistance should be provided by donor countries, the UN, International Red Cross and we expect that”, she said.

The Minister also noted that Russian authorities even after being knocked Malaysian passenger aircraft in July this year, has not decreased, but increased supplies of weapons pro-Russian rebels in the Donbas, UNIAN reports.

Recall that a convoy of Russian humanitarian assistance went from Moscow today.

The Ukrainian authorities claim that colon of Russian assistance will reach only up to the border. On the border the cargo will be overloaded in rented cars and will continue to move to the destination point in Ukraine.

According to the first Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Valery Chaly, at the moment, the position of the Red Cross is that this assistance on the boarder will be overloaded in rented cars and will continue to move to the destination point. “Thus, we will not allow of any support by the MES of Russia or any of the militaries. It is for sure”, he noted. Humanitarian assistance will go to the Donbas under control of the Ukrainian side. Ukraine takes responsibility for the security of the delivery of this assistance.
